Prep Time:30 minutes
Cook Time:30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 package Jimmy Dean Premium Pork Sausage Roll
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/3 cup chopped chives (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded mozzarella
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash- optional)

Directions

  1. Cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain and set aside.
  2. Beat eggs with chives and garlic powder in medium bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Season with salt and pepper. Add to skillet; cook over medium-low heat 3-4 minutes or until eggs are set and still moist, stirring occasionally.
  3. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray. Unroll dough and separate into 16 triangles. Arrange 8 triangles with shortest sides toward center slightly overlapping in a sun shape and leaving a 4-inch round circle open in center. Place ½ of the cooked sausage on top of each crescent roll ring. Top with ½ of the cheddar and scrambled eggs and sprinkle with ½ of the mozzarella. Repeat with remaining ingredients forming 2 crescent rings.
  4. Pull points of triangles over the ingredients and tuck dough under to form a rings.
  5. Brush with egg wash, if desired and bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with additional chives, if desired.

Yield

2 crescent rings (16 servings)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very delicious on snowy day Loved it very easy to make and can think of a variety of ways to complement this recipe by using other meats such as ham or bacon etc. My husband thought had too much sausage (didn't use all of it) but he is not a big meat eater otherwise he thought was good. Wonder can this be frozen?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yummy cresent ring I made the breakfast cresent ring with sirloin steak cut up in small chunks instead of sausage , because I was out of sausage, also I didn't have chives so I use green onion tops instead. It was delicious and my family loved it! Easy to cook !

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I don't know if I'm missing something, or what, but as I'm waiting for this monstrosity to bake (as I write this), I can't help but feel that there was wayyyyyy too much sausage & chives for the amount of room you have to work with on top of the crescent rolls!! Did anyone else have this problem? And the funny thing is......although it didn't call for any particular size crescent rolls, I actually used the jumbo ones because I definitely could imagine everything fitting on there when I initially read the ingredient list!! Even using those, this thing is huge & looks more like a mountain than a wreath!! There is stuff spilling out everywhere & the tips of the crescents barely fit over the pile!!! So......I am HOPING that the end result will be worth it, but I just don't see how anyone could have fit everything in there & made it look like the picture, lol! Maybe HALF the sausage (sorry Jimmy Dean!!). Will try to add part II of this review once it's done & tested!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CONFUSED I have read and reread this recipe, where did the bacon come from? It never said to cook any and it is not an ingredient until you are who to assemble the dish???
