Ingredients:

  1. 1 pkg. Maple Flavor Jimmy Dean Pork Sausage
  2. 1 cup finely chopped baking apple
  3. 3 cans (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  4. 2 pkgs. (3 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  5. salt and black pepper to taste
  6. 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon (or to taste), optional
  7. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until meat is thoroughly cooked and no longer pink. Stir in apple and continue to cook 1 minute longer. Remove from heat, stir in cream cheese. Season to taste with salt and pepper; add cinnamon if desired. Allow to cool 10 minutes before filling dough. Unroll all three cans of dough; separate crescent rolls into triangles. Place 2 level tablespoons of filling near the wide edge at base of triangle; pressing filling together into a log shape. Roll wide edge of dough toward the "point" of the triangle, enclosing the filling. Fold edges of dough over to enclose the filling as much as possible. Bake on a lightly greased baking sheet 17-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
